Hi guys i bought the k700i on crappy old vodafone £15 deal. Was fairly happy with the icons but was soo pissed that the messed up the mp3 features. I was wondering if you could make wav files and use them as ringtones.

I did however ring up vodafone and they told me that a software update is about to be released in september which should rectify the problem. Also he was saying that even when the update does come out you can only use the mp3s preinstalled. Not your own ones. But he goes you may be able to create an id which the phone picks up. Because thats the way they know if its an copyrighted mp3.

Yeah, wav tones can be used as ringtones.Do it from the contacts options, then move 2 or 3 times > on the terrible joystick. That will allow you to set all wav tones to a specific contact. This message was posted from a Nokia

he can't because vodafone has disabled the feature for MP3's as ringtones. that is why he's asked his question in the first place

Quote:Right these are the facts...
Unbranded K700 - can use ANY MP3 as a ringtone. Menu and icons brilliant.
Vodafone K700 - can ONLY use MP3s as a ringtone if they are bought from Vodafone, ie no good ones then!
