> p900 pc suite probs help please

ok i had an old version of pc suite that worked fine except everytime i tried to do a backup it failed halfway through with an error message saying phone possibly not connected. it mus be because it restarted my phone and said backup in progress then it fails after phone restarts.
i have uninstalled it and installed new version of sonyericsson site and i get the same messages trying to backup but also. if i click the myp900 icon on the pc desktop it says not connected when the box opens. it must be connected as the icon is in system tray .
anyone able to help please this is doing my barnet in thanks
