When I transfer jpeg's to my P800 they look bad. I'm assuming this is due to the fact that the P800 can only show 12 bits. Is there a fast way to convert jpegs to 12 bit?

Converting a jpeg to any other format wont make it look any better.

How can you improve the quality of a jpeg? Its like upping the bitrate of an mp3, its still gonna sound the same. Youre wasting your time man.

With regards to details and resolution you're right, of course.

But adjusting a picture to a specific view is a complete different story. P800 can only display 4096 different colours, P900 can produce 65535 and P910 will be able to deal with 256000 different colors. If you adjust the color palette accordingly, one might be suprised with the results.

There is still the issue of taking the size of the picture and the saturation into consideration, depending on the specific abilities that the display provides.

It's not plain and simple all the time.

I guess there's no quick and easy way of optimizing photos for the P800's 4,096 colour display...

Well there was that image fix proggy out there that I installed on one of my p8's and noticed a difference between the two. The one without it looks washed out a bit.

I think it was just called "image fix" does anyone remeber that one? It was last year. I think the newer R2F firmware has that included or something like that. I'll check to see if I still have it somewhere...
