can anyone tell me how to input birthdays into the P900?

Handy Day allows you to specify birthdays:

(personally, I think its a tad expensive for what it does)

Alternatively you could always file your date under "Birthdays" (create a new File).

By default, Calendar doesn't have this functionality.
