It would be interesting to know what type of form factor you guys prefer. Clamshell or block? Personally i prefer the block design. But that maybe because i haven't used a clamshell very often. Your opinions? This message was posted from a T230

I miss my clamshell (my first cell phone!), but I've gotten accustomed to the candybar (block) style of my T616. Love it, but would in back in a heartbeat (only the z600, though). This message was posted from a T616

I feel clamshells are sort of "delicate" phones. It may just be a stereotype. But i feel if these phones fall off your hands, they're gonna end up in the dust-bin. Are clamshells really that delicate or is it just my feeling? This message was posted from a T230

Perhaps because I've always had them (apart from a brief time with a V200), I prefer block or 'candybar' phones - they fill your hand nicely, especially the metallic-type cased phones like the T610!

If the clamshell is well made, it will survive alot. This message was posted from a T616

I prefer the candy bar style everytime.

However, the advantage of having a flip or clamshell phone is the screen can be much bigger because the keypad is on the other half of the phone. The screen can take up half the phone and still remain small when the phone is closed.

Yeah the screen can be bigger in a clamshell. But have you people seen what nokia did to their first clam phone the 7200? The screen is so tiny! This message was posted from a T230
