How easy is it to get your PAC number off Vodafone?
For example, is it in the same phone call or do you have to wait??
Will be doing it soon, just wondered what the process is?

About as easy as pulling a brontasaur from a tar pit... You ring up, request the PAC, and you have to wait for them to post it to you! Took over a fortnight for mine to arrive - although the hinderdesk sometimes have the code before this. I ported away from Vodacrone about 2 months ago...

Yeah - Orange were very good - put the phone down and within 5 minutes I had an SMS with PACs for both my primary and ALS... Vadacrone seem to like shuffling paper for paper's sake.

It took about two weeks for mine to come thru. once i got it changing over was a doddle. However beware if you've use vodafone.net for a mail/txt/fax/voicemail box address I mistakenly used it for my mail and it got trapped there with out any redirects. It was beginning to get junk/spam anyway and the txts i got each time was begging to annoy me but something to consider if you have it.

Unfortunately not - the Porting Arrangement is a voluntary agreement between operators. Yes - they have to offer you the opportunity to port, but there is no regulation that says they have to give it to you within x days. OFTEL are useless for this as they process is a volundatry agreement and therefore not a regulatory issue.
