Will upgrading firmware delete the files eg. videos stored previously on my phone? do i have to back them up?

how exactly does one update their firmware? do you have to go to a SE service Centre? if so, do they charge?

I can't believe with that after your time here you are asking that
to get a firmware update you go to a service centre and generally its free during the warranty period and after that it depends where you go. in uk you may pay as much as £30, here in germany they charge 20 or 40 euros
