Folks,

I've been trying to get Network info to work on Sman 1.3.

I've been trying it out by setting it so a haunting tune comes on when I enter work!

But no matter how hard I try nothing happens when I come into work!

Any hints, tips or idiots guides will be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have got a problem with it too. I saved cell info at work, then went to a friends place about 2-3 miles away. Just when I got there the signal went off that I changed cell. And that is just bull, since in Malmö where I live we got about 1-2 antenna/s (cell??) per building where I go through. So this doesn't do me any good. I turned it off.

can you please view the cell info module in sman and see if the cell id really changes? also, did you toggle your phone into and out of flight mode at anytime during that?

To the developers of Sman.
Would it be possible to use the network module to preset the phone to go into silent mode in some cells. eg. the cell at the opera can trigger the phone to mute itsef. I think that would be a nice feature! Don't know if thats possible though....

mr, arrow, that's a good suggestion. Tonight, in a drunken stupor, i also had an SMan Network info idea. It was two things, yes, now i remember. Bluetooth activation. And application launching. I have many sweet applications, such as Bemused, which i rarely use, since i then have to enable bluetooth and connect etc. If bluetooth switched itself on whenever i was home, and but turned itself off whenever i left the house, it would be great.

Hi Droll,

I've checked the cell ID and it does change... Is that a good thing or bad?

Also I have not used flight mode - ever!

Could it just be that there are too many phone masts in London?!?!?!?

@scouser: cell changing is good. that means you are moving from one serving cell to another. the only issue is in gsm it is possible for a cell to cover a radius of up to 2km. not very good for location based services (that's why there's GPS). of course, this all depends on many factors.

that may be exactly what you are experiencing.

Thanks Droll and guys,

I guess I'll just have to live without it... I mean c'mon, I think I'll know when I enter the office without my phone having to tell me! I'll see all the burning fires, feel the 1000 degree heat, see the man dressed in red, with a sharp pointed tail and red suit... IT'S HELL and the man in red is the BOSS!

Any ideas as to why I always get "Error Reading DB" when I open the Network Info?

It has always displayed this error.

Any relationship to my removal of the previously installed miniGPS? I tried removing and reinstalling Sman just in case but still the error message.

Thanks.
