Hello, this is my first post on Esato.
I have a problem with my SE T610 (Vodafone prepaid, firmware R4E002).
When I carry it in my pocket of my jeans it switches off after a while. Ofcourse i have the keys locked.
It only happens when I have the phone in my pocket, not when I lay it on the table or somewhere else. I checked if the battery contacts are OK, and they are.
I did a search on this forum and found out that some people had the same problem with the T68i, but not with T610. But the T68i has a feature that it turns off when you press the NO button longer than 10 seconds, even if you have keypad locked.
As far as I know the T610 does not have this feature.
Can someone tell me what causes the switching off? Is it the temperature maybe? Or the firmware?
Any help is appreciated.

It must be fw problem. Go to se and tell them the same story before u make an upgrade. Maybe a contacj is loose in your fone. Btw join the club. This message was posted from a T630

Do you keep anything else in the pocket with it? Maybe something is brushing up against it and turning it off since it only happens in your pocket.

He wrote that the auto keylock is on. And even it turns on after 25 sec, the switch on/off button is almost impossible to push, and if it is u have to push it hard ca 2 sec long. This message was posted from a T630

I would suspect a dodgy contact somewhere - if it's only happening in your pocket but not when on a table or elsewhere, this suggests to me perhaps that the battery is losing contact with the battery contacts causing the phone to switch off.

In the short term, try a piece of card, or a folded piece of paper folded a couple of times and then put this behind the battery so it's between the battery and the back cover, then sliding the back cover back on over the battery and paper. See if the problem still persists then.
