I think its because Sony ericsson did there research and realised that most people that they are targeting there phone at dont use the memory card slot. I have three friends (17 years old) with memory card slot and they haven't thought about buying a new memory card. Its a waste of space but i would still like it.

because the phone is not aimed at users who are expected to need a lot of memory for extra applicatiosn and such. 41 MB should last most users a long long time

It says that the matal plate below is where the Memory stick will be going in the next Kxxx revision!
could be a possibility that the next version will have a MS slot!
