> Help French roam in the USA

Hello!
My brother just arrived in the USA from France but he's not able to get his SE T630 to work with roaming. As mentioned he has a SE T630 and his provider is SFR in France. He's able to get reception but the display says that he can only call emergency phone calls. When he checks the network list Cingular and AT&T shows up but when he tries to connect to any of those networks it doesn't work and goes back to Emergency calling only.
Does anyone know what settings to change when roaming with the SE T630.
Help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

No settings as SE's are automatic band selection. There's probally something wrong on his end (not having international roaming activated with SFR) or line being disconnected. Where are you located, no T-Mobile on network search?
But my advice is for your friend to give SFR a call. I know the number for SFR is on

He's in LA now and no T-Mobile shows up, unfortunately, as I prefer them to any other US carrier.
I would think it would be automatic as well. The sales person at SFR in France told him that it should work in the US without any problems.

t-mobile uses cingular towers in California.....thats why his network searches did not pull up T-mobile

I was suspecting that too. When I was in Cali with my T-Mobile phone it said first Pac Bell and then Cingular on my display.
I will have my bro call his SFR cust service tonight.

Yes indeed, at least in belgium, you have to ask your network provider to open roaming outside of the EU. And it can be done only after subscribing with them for at least 3 months (I guess they first want to know if you pay the bills in time).
