> How to trasnfer whole add book?
Bookmark topic
Hello
I've posted this in another thread but didn’t get any response so I thought its better I start a fresh thread, hopefully that will get more response.
I want to do a master reset for my P800 and I've done the backup. I've been told that the P800 backup software is not recommended coz not all the info will be saved in the right columns (esp the phone book i.e contacts). So it has been suggested to me that I should transfer my phone book by email and then download it back to my P800 after the master reset.
My problem is that whenever I send one whole folder using the "send this folder" option by email, I only get the first name in the folder when I open it in outlook. All the other names + contacts in the folder go missing. Does anyone know how I can transfer the whole phone book (besides synching that is) to my email and retrieve all my contacts after I've done the master reset? Thanks

Why isnt synchronizing an option? It preserves everything but picture association I guess

When I try to synchronise to Outlook via bluetooth I get a message saying the username/password is incorrect. I haven't seen any options to enter these, and wasn't aware they were needed.
Sending files and browsing the internet via Opera and PC internet connection work fine so the bluetooth bit seems to be fine.
Any ideas?

Apparently it jumbles up some of the fileds like if you have more than one hp number for one particular contact, synching wont record all of the numbers. Not too sure coz I have not tried a master reset yet.

i think the new quick contacts can backup contacts.
for outlook, try adding a new "user account". that's typically the only place it will ask for password.

Use SmartVcard to make a backup of all your contacts.
Export all your contacts to one *.vcf file and when you will restore it, just send the file to the phone.

if you create "all.vcf" from the contacts app and email it to your PC, you have it, only it does not pick up the categories you may have created on your phone. The same goes for syncing with Outlook.
with QuickContact 4.15 (latest version only), it creates a backup on your D drive, which includes categories and even images. You can then easily restore from the same menu dialogue.
Having spent a couple of hours re-categorising all my contacts (just 3 days before the new version of QC was released), I'd recommend getting QuickContact.
