> My t610 keeps saying "insert SIM" WHY?

OK, i looked around and found some threads on this topic but no clear answer. It happens all of a sudden. I used the phone for a year now, never had a problem. BUT today, i looked at my phone and it said "Insert SIM". Reboot didnt solv it. Cleaning didnt solve it. Start phone without SIM gives the sam msg, and after that, with sim, the message is back again. WHY? Is it the sim? Is it thi phone?

it could be a faulty connection in the phone or more likely with the sim card to the phone. to check this i would recomend screwing up a tiny piece of paper and putting in between sim card and battery.
your simcard could be bent a little out of shape.

I had the same prob with my t68i I cleaned my sim and phone with contact cleaner the prob was solved! Maybe u should ask for a new sim from ur network provider? Mine is donkeys yrs old :-)

What do you mean by "screwing" a tiny piece of paper? Just cut it and place it between SIM and battery?
I did change the cover/face som time ago and reasently change the keypad. Has this something to do with it? Does it add some preasure and then damaging the simcard? Ill try re-essable it and whange to the old keypad and losen thos screws.

yes it basically will add a little more pressure onto the simcard (via the battery), so it will ensure a whole connection with the connectors. i had this problem with a t300 and this fixed it.

NO, that didnt help. I even did the paper rather thick but no go :-( (me hate this kind of small problems, I rather go for the bigger ones ;-)

I had exactly the same problem with my shiney new K700i 2 weeks after buying it. SIM didn't work in another phone either so I knew it wasn't the phone. Took it back to the network provider and they just did a SIM-swap. Took about 3 hours for the new SIM to be active with the same phone number.

OK, thanks! Nothig more to do right now I think. Ill go to the dealer where I bought the phone, after I tested the sim in another phone OC. Thanks for all help. If there are more experiences on this topic, keep filling in those examples. Meybe it can help mer or someone else.

I had problems with my sim-card a month ago. The sim card was only 6 month old, and it didnt accept my pin-code. I got the puk-code from my operator and I tryed it in several phones, but it did not work. I sended my card to the operator service center and a few days later I had a new sim-card.
So, try your sim-card in another phone.. =)
