A ‘cracked’ version of the Mosquitos game for Symbian was found to be a trojan. The dialer trojan is capable of sending SMS to a couple pay-per-call numbers without the owner’s knowledge. Each SMS costs a hefty £1.50. Ouch!
We first heard of the Mosquito dialer Trojan while researching online. Various web forum users were complaining that they had installed a game and now their phones were sending text messages to the number 87140. But some users hadn’t noticed this problem, so it was evident that there were at least two discrete versions of this game in circulation - and that at least one of these versions was malware.

I always thaught that that was the method in paying for mosquito's.. by it sending premium rate sms..

I've also came across that same topic in another forum. Can't somebody have the developer jailed for that? I guess built in antivirus for mobiles would soon be introduce one of these days. SE are u lìstening? ;-)

This isn't a virus though... This was built into the program ON PURPOSE. There is already an antivirus program for Symbian anyway. It is useless in my opinion, but it exists nonetheless.
Isn't Mosquitos for Series 60 anyway? Why are we talking about it here?
