> Fresh ? about the situation with Orange K700i !
Bookmark topic
OK im asking this as I havent found a definate answer through searching the forum.
I am understanding that the K700i from Orange is locked to taht network and has menu items missing. And it seems there is still no concise answer to why it is like that. Well I have just bought a K700i from ebay that is locked to Orange for £135 and my question is....
Can the phone be unlocked to any network. (i have a Vodafone sim and would like to use that)?
And can the phone be set to SE original settings/menu in anyway?
I dont mind paying a 3rd party to do it if thats whats needed!.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I will be possible to unlock & reflash this phone just like it could be done with the T610.
However I'm not sure if anyone can do it just yet but if not it'll be just a matter of time

To your queastion asked.
The answer is no at the moment. If you want your phone unlocking you will have to go to the network provider which in your case is Orange. However they will not give you this code free or to you.
The person who purchased the phone will need to ask for the code.
The answer regarding the software
Orange have changed the colout of the icons to Orange and disablled the Shortcut features. Everything else is unchanged.
Vodafone has changed the icons to red and disabelled the mp3 function as a ringtone. You can however downloadone from voda which you will have to pay for, but this will work.
I hope this answers your question.
And yes i have a Orange K700i

NOt really just a bit annoying that they have removed the ability to set shortcuts as well as the Picture ID on the SMS alert. THe shortcut ICOns look messy but i can live with it.

I'm soooo glad i got my Unbranded 02 K700i!
I hope that the poor sods with branded K700i's can get their K700i's unbranded soon.

Is the general feeling that it will only be a matter of time before it can be unbranded, or is it possible that it never will?
And secondly what accessories are a must have (ie data cable ?) I want to be able to change ringtones and stuff like that, what bits should i look at getting?
TIA

Get yourself a USB Bluetooth dongle for data transfer. Data cables aren't worth getting IMO and a Bluetooth dongle can be used with any phones you buy in the future that support Bluetooth technology!
