> Orange's K700i update
Bookmark topic
I've just got off the phone with an Orange operator and they said their upgrade stocks have just gone out and will be back later today.
He said that they are with the QI (Quality Inspection) Team and will ring me back when they can send me my new K700i. Upgrade at £9.99

better than the £19.99 otherwise new.
So, to conclude, I think orange have upgraded the firmware on all new K700i handsets or at least upgrade handsets.
I'll be able to tell you friday I guess when the handset should arrive!

OK, the phone wasn't sent to me that morning.
The upgrade was in today so i ordered it today. I should receive the phone by Tuesday or Wednesday... 5 whole days GRRR.
Anyway, the woman said to me that the phone was simply out of stock. If this was so, why was it with the QI team? Then she said to me she saw a note saying something about the shortcut menu, "SonyEricsson took the option out to make room for the Orange features like line2 etc". So it looks like we're stuck with obsolete camera buttons :/
I'm going to see if I can flash it to original firmware. Hopefully everything works fine then.
I'll make an update when my K700i arrives on Tues/Weds.

Just a quick note to say that my new K700i has just arrived this morning from Orange. I'll report back here with my findings.
I think I know what I am looking for ("Camera in main menu, or More" and "Shortcuts"), but if someone could confirm for me that would be great!

My mate just got a new K700i from Orange this morning and it still has the camera option.
so still no joy yet.
I imagine it will be about 6-8 weeks before we hear, as you can imagine they will have to test the new features and amend thier manuals etx etc. if they are to do it properly.

I'm hoping they do make the effort. I have just emailed orange to add another complaint to the pile.
What is *really* annoying is that the "more" menu appears just a second before "Welcome to Orange" does! Argh!!
