> Language selection UK Orange K700i

Recently got K700i from Orange in the UK. No end of problems (still can't use GPRS, MMS pictures get sent two or three times, keyboard has locked up, well known battery life issues). However, biggest frustration in selection of languages - Danish/English/French/Dutch/Slovak - where is German? This is an issue for my partner who is German and want to use T9 texting. Orange shops and customer support are useless and have no idea, Sony Ericsson UK were also useless - 'it should be there'. So I have to send the phone to a service center??
Anyone else confirm their language list?

Just called the SE recommended service center - "our engineer is on holiday"! ONE engineer supporting SE phones, so I can't get any help until next Tuesday. This is ridiculous.
And I'm not having anyone tell me that I can't complain as an 'early adopter' - I didn't choose to be an early adopter, this was the phone recommended by Orange when I upgraded from my ancient old Nokia 6150.

Called a different service center in Brighton (UK). They wouldn't let me talk to an engineer! The info was chinese-whispered back and forth through a Customer Services Rep. Story is:
"We have a new software upgrade for K700i just in today" (Hurrah!)
"Can't guarantee it will work, or give you German" (Huh?)
"If it works it'll cost you £17" (WHAT!?)
"Of course it deletes all the phone memory and may destroy the phone" (Ok, now your kidding right?)
"We have no list of what this upgrade will do and can't tell you the version number until later today when we finish downloading it" (Bye bye - this is pointless)
Does anyone have a spec for what should have been on this phone in terms of langauge support out of the box?

You need a language pack with German included. Not all language packs of the newest firmware version are necessarily released at the same.
"List of changes to firmware" is closely guarded and service centre personnel do not know what's on there.

look at the language list and you will see that the only languages in there are the ones where Orange exist. Orange doesnt exist in Germany so no german. all the non branded ones got german, swedish etc in them.

Thanks for the replies guys. That explains why a freind with the K700i on voda has german,italian, turkish, arabic...
So what is the chance of my getting the laguage pack for German and does anyone have any idea how I do that (orange don't, SE don't).
This is kinda like my problem with GPRS - I've spent 4 days trying to get it configured with Orange with no success - I've just noticed that a similar handset obtained from Orange at the same time has totally different internet menus. Time to start another thread I guess
