I've got no acces to my pc so im using opera to dowload the .sis files (or .zip and unzip them after) but i don't know why the OS doesnt recognize the file as an instalation file,and when I try to open the .sis manually (sman) i get a message saying that no viewer is available for that file.
its so annoying cause i've done that many times before and now i cant do it with ANY file.well none work except one: zipper.sis
can someone help me? im trying to install magicthemes2.sis

Does the file have the .sis file extention? If not try renaming it & add ".sis" on the end. This works on the PC too

they do have the right extension i think,and i renamed them with no symbols and short names. im bored so i opened the only sis that works (zipper) with hexedit and found out that in the first couple of kb theres readable text, with paths info and stuff like that,but in the rest of them there's no readable information,which makes me think that the files may be compressed in some way (like compressed exe installers in a windows pc) but that should not be a problem.well i dont even know if im makin any sense here or im just drivin crazy.
any clues on my problem?
if someone has the time,could u send me some sis that u know it works from the phone? so i can try. my email address: jcobreros at jdc dot com
thank you very much

I have this problem here in new zealand too, its something to do with opera, the network and MIME encoding.
You have two options, firstly, try downloading the file using the internal browser instead of opera, as this works for me every time.
Secondly, try installing the 'more viewers' app you get with the p800 suite cds; this app will recognise the .sis files downloaded via opera.
Any probs, just PM me, as this problem caused me a lot of grief when it happened initially, so i know how annoying it is!

hey switchbitch,thanks for your big help. i have found out that the problem comes with opera proxy corrupting the files,but your answer is much more extense and useful. i hope this helps other people with the same problem.
by the way, what prog do u prefer to open zip files? i find zipper really unstable (corrupted files

)
thanks
