Well, having read that it is possible to do, I've just been through every menu in my P800 and I can find the tickboxes for that feature in MMS and E-Mail settings, but nothing for SMS messages.
Mine has never sent the original message with the reply, I had looked for this function before, but always assumed it wasn't possible!?
Someone must know how to do it, unless it's a difference in firmware that allows this option to be controlled?

I have never seen such a function... let alone in firmware, but in all the phones I have seen
I am talking about SMS, and I use them a lot
If this is only about MMS / Email etc... ignore my ignorance

No it is definately in SMS, and i dont think it would be a firmware prob although I dont know to much about this. The reason I say that though is that it suddenly started happening and although like some of you say it may be nice when required it is damn irritating when you dont especially if you a are a tex maniac like me.

Ok, All I see is that I can reply (when no option to include any original text... or I can forward (when text is included)... Is forward being confused with reply
I'm talking P900
Err... I just realize... P800 may be different.
On P900, an option to include partial text from original SMS can be to copy the text and paste it in empty reply

No definately no confusion simply selectiing reply brings up the original message in full then required to select it all and delete before being able to send new text

I had a really good look through everything last night and I still can't find any way of switching between "Reply" and "Reply with History" for SMS.
Either it's a bug in the phone, or there's some weird keypress sequence to switch it's behaviour? You said it happened suddenly, so my only advice would be to try a format of the C: Drive to change your phone back to it's original settings?
Bizzarre though....
