have you tried changing font (with sman) and zoom?
same prob when displaying phone number as well - from preferences?

If you choose "show preferred phone number" in your contacts preferences, you get phone numbers listed against the name as shown in the pic. However, the names are left aligned and the phone numbers are right aligned.... something like this:


Contact112345678

Short, Number8888

Contact287654321



This is much more readable (provided my above renders well ) and thats what he seems to have lost

Go to edit, preferences, and select first name, last name. See if that works.

You used the "Compress contacts" utility from Sman.
After rebooting the phone, the contacts should be 'expanded', like before.
