I know there are numerous threads on this subject but I have tried and tried and have not been able to use my broadband connection with the in built internet browser and for email accounts that I have set up on my fone. I have tried this with opera and works absolutely fine.

Is it possible with the in built browser and emails? if so can somebody please post some step by step instructions or point me in the direction of a thread that gives step by step instructions. thanks

Short answer: no.

Still, anything is possible. There is one way to fool the built in email client to use your pc connection, but you have to set up a tcp redirect (simple portforwarding) for the mail server port from your pc to your mail server. Typically port 110 for pop3 or 143 for imap. Once you've done this you can configure an email account on your pX00 where you replace the host name of your mail server with: wsockhost.mrouter
This name always points to the pc running pc suite (that handles the mrouter ppp connection).

The mail client will still connect to gprs, but the actual connection used to retrieve mail is the one provided by mrouter. Unlike the old trick with the bogus gprs accounts, this should work on any pX00 firmware revision.

If you set up a wap account where you use wsockhost.mrouter as the proxy host, you could probably pull a similar trick with the built in browser... but then you'd either have to run a wap gateway on your pc or find one available on the internet that you could portforward to.

I guess there was some talk of creating a fake GPRS connection sometime back. This trick, I suppose fools the apps... cant find the thread now (or maybe I'm a bit confused by something else)

lve read a lot about the fake gprs account but it didn't work.most threads say do not change any settings but leave them as default but it seems that some sort of proxy settings are required.does anybody know these settings and has anybody successfully got this to work?please help.thanks
