Lo all, this is my first post here having just registered, but you''ve all been a huge help in the past so I'm hoping you can help here...

My t610 just won't go on. It's lost it's battery charge, so I plug it in and the red light goes on. But it wouldn't turn on even when charging.
Fair enough think I, so I let it charge overnight. Next morning tried turning it on, no go.
I'd prefer not having to send it off since a)I've heard the stories of repair hell, and b)I'd like to have my phonebook available to me asap.

Does anyone have any ideas? I thought it may be the battery but I would have assumed that after a drop the batt would be the most resilient and least likely to break. Am I wrong in thinking this?

Many thanks for any help

Welcome to Esato

if I was you, I'd try another T610 battery, before making conclusions.. It could be that you battery is fully outcharged.. Try another t610 battery.. if it doesn't work, and you're willing to risk your waranty, you could deasemble the phone, and see if the contact pins of the charger part is loose/broken/dirty/wet... also try cleaning the pins with some technic spirit ( called Isopropanol i think). hope this helps

You never know that it might be the on button??? Unlikely but possible, mine stalled a few times!

Thanks for the replies guys...

I'm going to go down the high street tomoz to see if I can get a new battery, hope it's that.
Doubt it's a faulty button because I took the black back off, removed the button and tried to turn it on without the button in place, no cigar.

If the problem were a dead/faulty battery, would I not still be able to turn the phone on if it was plugged in?

Thanks
