Everytime when turning on the P900, I can see in Sman that "messages" is running. I have no new/old sms, email, or mms. Imo there should be no need for the phone to startup "messages" automatically. Anyone know why this is happening ? It's not a problem, just annoying.

err... no!
Only applications is always running.
Messages dont come up as running unless i bring that up. At least on a P900.
Please check the startup apps you have set in Sman. I guess you might have messages as startup app there... or maybe some other app which is loading messages.
I just hope you dont have the mosquito game variant virus which is sending SMS out

Messages comes up when I boot my P900 automatically. I assumed it was because I have my email automatically check every hour, but maybe I'm wrong.

I also have the phonebook and messages apps running on my P800 when I start it. Not a big deal for me actually because I don't think they use up that much power.

If you don't want them running by default, you can have SMan's flipclose flush option enabled and then just flush the apps by opening, and then closing the flip after your phone starts-up.

I have the Messages running as well when booting but I remove it with Sman or Tracker with flip close flushing.

it goes like this... My state and it's capital are considered as two different telecom circles. if i go outta the city limits, ie to other places within the same state, it is roaming and roaming charges apply.

AIRTEL, a GSM service provider, came up with an offer in which the SIM will contain 2 numbers, a post-paid connection for the city and a prepaid for rest of the state. the SIM has 2 PIN codes, one for each number. if i go outta the city, i need to switch off n on the mobile n enter the prepaid number's PIN, which will activate the prepaid. whn thtz done, the SIM card will SMS the service provider tht i am roaming, n i get confirmation SMS. all calls to the postpaid number are forwarded to the prepaid at a lesser charge... and when i come back to the city, i switch off n on, and choose the postpaid number's PIN. this will send an SMS to the service provider to cancel call forwarding to the prepaid number, n i get a confirmation tht tiz been cancelled.

now if the phone is a nokia or any other phone which has "confirm SIM action" option turned On, then the phone would give u a prompt to "Allow SIM action" when u turn it on. If u allow it, the SIM sends an SMS and u get the confirmation... but it my P900, i couldnt find a option to restrict SIM actions.
