Yesterday, I switched back to T-Mobile and couldn't be more happy. Their customer service, tech support, and pricing beats everyone else in the US. Yes, coverage could be a tad better but I guess they can't be good at everything.
So my old carrier was Cingular. Together with AT&T they have pretty good coverage. However, charging over a dollar per minute for international calls just doesn't do it for me. And not having 24h customer support just sucks.
Continue with the good job T-Mobile!!!!!

I have t-mobile also and it is definately cheaper than other places but they need to get a better and bigger selection of good quality phones. Half of what they have now is crap that i wouldn't give my dog to chew on.

Yes, you're right! But that goes for all US providers.
I recommend just buying the phone yourself online and then pop in your SIM.

I was told that soon we will be able to purchase the phone from any cingular, t-mobile and another co. (can't remember) and pick your own provider out of the three. Verizon is too big to participate and sprint only has 1 phone that has sim.
In about a year they said at t-mobile. I can't wait!!

i'm with cingular now my contract will be expiring in 3 weeks. my contract is the 29.99 plan in cingular now and if i went to t-mobile i will just get the same plan. it's a pity that t-mobile reduced the number of minutes in their 29.99 plan and no free nights only weekends and that sucks. i don't need the 39.99 plan for i do not use my phone that much.
i guess i'll just have to stick to cingular for another year again.

I doubt that you'll be able to get a phone at T-Mobile and choose Cingular as your provider and vice versa. They must have been talking about independent stores.

Just get the phone unlocked and you can do it. T-mo is more helpful on that compared to Cingular but Cingular does sell some unlocked phones (SE and Motos)

Yes, T-Mobile are great with unlocking. Once I got my phone I called them and said that I was going back to Europe and would use another SIM and they gave me the unlock code right away. Cingular on the other hand, didn't want to help me with that.
