Has anyone experienced the following problem? If so, what did you do to resolve the issue?

While backing up P800 using the Sony Ericsson backup utility I get the following message:

"An Unspecified Error Occurred/
Failed to backup file
C:\sustem\apps\AppForge\Alarms.dat

How do you wish to proceed?"

Retrying yeilds repitition of the error. Skipping the file appears to allow the backup to complete normally (I get the message indicating that backup has successfully completed) and a new backup set appears in the backup index, however when you click "OK" to restart the phone, the following error message appears on the phone

"ProgramAppArcServerTHread
Reason Code USER
Reason Number 130"

The phone then restarts successfully and performs (apparently) normally, however any restore attempted from the backup set fails.

I have tried restoring the phone to factory defaults and restoring from my backup sets (all had the above error on creation) and I am unable to sucessfully restore the phone to the configuration that was backed up.

Can anyone offer a means to fix this problem?

Thanks,

~stitch

I get a simular error. Program backuppro_00812. Reason code USER. Reason number 30.

How do I fix this? I already re-installed PCSuite 3.1.1.

Bad news Stitch - I had this on my P800 and there is only one solution that I know of (after much investigation):

The problem is caused (unsurprisingly) by AppForge. The only option is a master reset (to factory defaults) and to reload the applications and data again, separately. You will not be able to restore from any of your previous backups as they are all corrupt (at least since those made since you installed AppForge).

There is no way around this (believe me, I tried everything!).

Strangely, not that is any help to you, AppForge has not caused me any such problems on my P910i (didn't use it on the P900 for fear of the same thing happening).

Sorry, not what you wanted to hear

Some apps are pretty pesky and badly written.

Now itīs my turn to use an old thread regarding backup problems:-( The last times it said after an 30 min that it cannot make a copy of many files in DSystemInstall and in there many .sis files. Same problem accours SystemLibsPluginLibrary with .rsc .dll .mbm .xml .txt files. Same at SystemMScreenSounds with many .wav files. Maybe itīs all about 50-70 files that can`t be backup of, could it be a corrupt memory card (512mb)? Luckely I have a backup but it is since 1 months back so wished to find a soultion with someones help...

Forgot to mention that I donīt have AppForge installed.
