hello. I need a sim card to use in the states, but wanted to find out what the best deals are. I have no idea how it works in the states, do you even have PAYG? I only need it for 3/4 months and mainly to recieve calls, but also make some, but definitely for sending lots of texts (esp back to britain). So, any information on good deals is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Yes, we have prepaid SIM cards here in the US. I think T-Mobile, Cingular, and AT&T offers them and the cheapest one is $30. Here in Seattle I know you can buy them in gas stations, mobile phone stores, and other places. You can also buy them on eBay if you know what you are getting. Good luck!

@amagab - Looks like the US$30 tab is quite too expensive for a simpack/simcard Here in Manila a brand new simcard only cost around US$ 2.80, and prepaid call cards only US$ 5.80 (cheapest) good for 2 months use at US$ 0.13 cents per minute call, and US$ 0.02 cents per sms sent !

Well the 30US$ sounds about right at the current excahnge rate 16.48£, which is about how much they sell them here in the UK anyway.
