Guys,

I've just started experiencing a problem with my keypad on my P800.

Everytime I press the C (clear) button or the back space button on the topline of the keypad I either get the same option as when I press the menu button (the top right button) or nothing happens at all! Also the number 2 button does not work properly.

At first I thought it might be a problem with the flimsy keypad- but it's not. I've also re-calibrated the phone and this also does not work.

Any ideas anyone please?

Thanks

Do you have the same problem when you have the virtual flip on the screen?

Nope. Just tried it and it works fine on the virtual keypad.

I've checked all the keys on the actual pad and they seem to be fine. I've cleaned the screen incase some dirt or grease was affecting the functions.

And it still doesnt work. I think I might just have to order a new keypad from SE. Any ideas how much these go for?

It probably isnt your keypad, as on the p800 the keypad simply presses onto the scren. Its more likely to be a software problem, i would get it checked out at a service centre.

Have you tried re-calibrating the screen? Might work... worth a try.

Well here goes...

i had same problem, have u checked the to little clips on side of keypad that let make it sit on the p800 frame si it is not resting on screen i looked and one clip was bent causeing the pad when pressed to go down in the wrong area, if this is the case then u need a new flip

i brought my new flip froma wholesaler on ebay for 3.99 inc P+P and it works fine, if ur not sure u want to use ebay then there are plenty of online shops etc that stock them

Thanks DJ

I'm a total airhead when it comes to ebay and stuff like that. I dont suppose you know of any websites where I can pick up a keypad?

Or are they a lot more on the net than on ebay?

If so, I guess I can always find someone who knows how to use ebay!

Cheers
