> Planning to buy a K700i

Hi guys. I'm planning to buy a K700i phone this week and was wondering how many mp3s or mp4s you have already uploaded to your K700i phone. I really want this fone because it can play stereo digital music files and the Nokia 6230 looks buggy from forum posts. I read somewhere that you that the fone has 40mb of memory but with all of the files including the operating software you only get less than 32mb or 20mb.
So my question is:
1. If no files are to be deleted (themes, sounds, pictures, etc.). How many free megabytes does the phone have. I thought 32mb should be all free on a fresh phone.
2. How long is the battery life? Again. I read on some posts it only works 10 hours because of bad firmware.
3. What firmware version do I have to look out for that is bug free? and how do you find out the version?
Thanks I hope somebody here can take the time to help me cause I really like this phone and I don't want to be dissapointed. I want to be prepared on making a smart purchase.

the 32mb is an old story and
upgraded it to 40mb for the production models. I don't know about branded phones but you will definitly get 40mb on the unbranded phones
I've never had a problem with my battery and it lasts several days with moderate usage if I don't charge it but since I charge it every night anyway its no big deal. yes some people are having problems but people with the latest firmware are reporting increased life
Usually the latest firmware version is the most bug free so always keep an eye on
Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) for that info. R2L001 is the latest btw

Try reading all the threads about the SE K700/i fone model here mates
So that you'll be fully aware of it's pros and cons before buying one
The only 2 things that I hate most 'bout it is it's poor battery life and software has full of bugs (though tolerable at times) ! Your 'Qs' were already answered by esato's moderator - @masseur ! Good Luck mate!

You get around 3.5 hrs browsing wap with the k7.with the nokia you get a little longer.the k7 has got the larger screen,but overall the nokia is nicer to use.i used the 6230 for 2 days,and much prefer it over this phone.the k7 is ok though.

I use the Nokia 6600 at the moment and it lacks the mp3 feature that's why I want a change. I guess it all depends on the person buying the phone, what can he lived with and what he cannot. The K700i certainly has cons, that goes with the Nokia 6230 as well.
I haven't made my decision yet but I'm more inclined at the moment to SE K700i. I will try to look more info about this phone and its main competitor. I'm glad that this forum respects other peoples opinion about the phones mentioned.

In every single K700 thread you have to post a nonsense answer stating that its full of bugs etc. - but for some reason you never really document what all these bugs are. You just try to discourage people by posting nonsense roumors.
Honestly its getting a litle bit irritating.
It has been documented over and over again that the K700 is not full of bugs - there are very few bugs that can actually be linked directly to the K700. People are just repeating the same few issues over and over and over again because noone bothers to search.
Of all the issues that have been posted 50-60% is caused by operator branding screwing up the firmware - this has nothing to do with the K700 - this is entirely operator issues and should be blamed the operators, not the K700.
Another 20-30% of the issues posted are either usererrors, people not knowing how to handle the phone, the synchronizing software, the phonemonitor, bluetooth or their pc's etc., or simply people posting stupid opinions like "it doesnt have external memory" or "no usercustomisable sms alert" as bugs - this is not bugs either. This is just some peoples opinion on how it should have been designed but wasnt.
Only the last 10-15% of the issues posted - which amounts to maybe 5 max 10 issues are directly bugs in the K700. All of which except for one are fixable via firmware - and afaik most of them have allready been fixed by the latest firmware R2L.
Batterytime are just fine for a model with this many features - it will last 3 days with normal use, 4 if you are carefull, 2 if you are a heavy user - expecting much more from a model with this many features are nonsense. There was a minor batterylevel bug that fooled people into thinking their battery was flat long before it actually was. This has allready been fixed in the R2L firmware - and general batterylife has also been improved through optimising in this firmware.
That is absolutely nothing for a completely new model that has just been released. Go look at any siemens, nokia, samsung, motorola board in the world and you will find atleast the same number of bugs on newly released models from other manufacturers.
If you feel I am wrong then feel free to post in precise detail what all these bugs are that you constantly feel compelled to nag about - and I will gladly point out which are operatorissues, which are usererrors and which are actual K700 bugs.
If you really beleive you will get a much better phone, with much better batterytime from the N6230 - then please get one
To any new user - dont worry about all the K700 posts - an unbranded K700 will make you perfectly happy
