According to statistics, the worst day and time for phone calls for the "sorry am late" person, seems that is around 20:00 on Friday night. But the reality is a bit different that what it seems.
Two mobile network providers, Cingular Wireless and Virgin Mobile USA, are offering a service which... produces excuses. The representative of Virgin Mobile, Sarah Koening mentioned: "Mobile phone becomes a lifestyle accessory thanks to our service".
So if for instance you are on a date and you get yourself in an unpleasent situation and you need an excuse urgently, then you set the service to call you on a specific time. So, when you answer the phone you get a recorded message of the following type:
"Good afternoon! This is the Escape from a date service! You need an excuse? You must leave urgently? You regret going on a date? Dont worry, Cingular is here! Just repeat after me the following: "Oh my God! Why this thing happens to you over and over again?" Now say that your roomate was locked out and you must return home to open the door for him! Goodbye and thank you for using our service!"
So in that way you can escape from your date and disapear. These recorded messages that are used from both companies are created in a high technological laboratory in Silicon Valley of California. Five persons with a Phd in Language produce excuses and borrow them to people who need urgently a get away ticket. Specifically the company BeVocal is designing phonetic logistics for telecommunications companies. The director of marketing Dan Enthoven statement was that: "Both clients, Cingular Wireless and Virgin Mobile are supplied with such excuses in great figures, around 10000 applications on a monthly basis".
Both companies have choosen different title for this service. Cingular calls it "Escape-A-Date" and Virgin Mobile calls it "Mobile's Rescue Ring".

I want this service when it comes to the UK. I also want a service that sends me SMS when I'm on a date so it looks like I've got mates!
