I took my new unlocked phone which I purchased in HK to a wireless store known for their expertise in firmware updates, and they said that my phone would not accept the OEM flash files.

While i am decently satisfied with the operation of my phone, I feel I should be able to update.

If anyone could please advise, it would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you buy your phone from? I mean is it under warranty? This message was posted from a T230

fRIEND of mine has the same problem. Bought an unbranded k700i and under warranty he went to service center for fw upgrade. They screwed it up, the fone is dead now. Still waiting over 14 days to get swap handset!!! /Limit is 30 days according our law/ or money back guarantee.....he is crazy now....

Thank you for your responses.

I purchased the phone in Hong Kong in on July 17th.

Unfortunately, I am now going to school in Michigan and I do not believe there are any SE service centers in th area, let alone the state.

Do you think i would be able to warranty the phone? When I first purchased it, I phoned SE regarding a defective battery and they sent me a new one promptly. Is this their problem or mine.

Thanks again for you help and I look forward to your responses.
