Hi all - forgive me if this has been covered but I did a search and couldn't find anything conclusive.

If the K700 is locked to a network and heavily branded by a network is there currently anyway of removing the software branding and unlocking the phone so it will work on any network?

Is is possible to replace the firmware with the default firmware, as opposed to Orange's or Vodafone's set?

Or is it a case of removing one network's branding/firmware fand using another one?

And if any/all of this is possible - how is the best way to go about doingit?

I'm asking because I can get a K700 on Vodafone cheap, but want to use it with my Orange contract.

Any help would be appreciated!

Bugger!

Maybe someone should make this topic (or one similar) a sticky/announcement etc. if there's a lot of topics being posted about it, save there being numerous topics?

But that is why the forum has a search feature! If u try a quick search that would stop lots of threads being posted

No way to unbrand? cant u just flash the fone with the standard firmware with a terminator dongle ? I read somewhere that it could be done with the t610...

No way to unbrand YET!

It can indeed be done with a T610 but the K700 f/w has not been cracked yet so it is really a matter of time but can't be done at the moment

is there any way to change where the orange shorcuts link to on the k700, the phone connects to o2 gprs fine but the links from the media album etc all link to orange sites instead of o2.
