Just got my P900 (yesterday - had a Nokia 3650). Wife says I'm worst than the kids w/their new toys.
Can't seem to find how to select 'Show my ID' automatically to everyone I call... and I have searched!
Can anyone help?

I meant show my "Caller ID".
I prefer to show my Caller ID as I don't like to receive "caller ID blocked" calls. Yet for a phone which has ALL the Bells & Whistles I'm amazed that I haven't found this option yet in the P900.
Other than that I'm having fun with it.

I'm in the UK with Orange and as far as I know, your number will always be shown to anyone with callerID unless you block it - call by call.
You say you used to have a Nokia?? - Nokia's have the option to block your number permanently. It may be that the CLI (Caller Line Identification) blocking is set on the SIM card, if this is the case, I would recommend putting your SIM back in your (or any other) Nokia - select the option to show your ID, then put the SIM back in the P900. If this fails to work, or (more likely) I'm just talking s**t, report the problem to your network operator, it'll be a fault at there end.

As usual we do things differently in the islands.
CID is blocked unless you force your ID by dialling *94 before every number dialled... OR (fortunately) my Nokia had the facility to "always show the ID".
I will try what you suggested when I get home.... wife immediately confiscated my Nokia.... after I deleted ALL numbers/pictures etc.
Thanks for the recommendation ... will let you tomorrow how i fair.

Just tried it on someone's Nokia in the office.
Selected the "Send own caller ID when calling" option. Switched back the SIMS.
Didn't work.....
Everyone is snickering about my P900 now.... I still like it
Is there away to force a prefix before every number dialled? As I mentioned we - *94 before every call to "show caller ID".
Someone is calling our provider to see if they can change it from there side.... there will be no work today until this is solved.

It's no way you could set it automatically. You must choose it before each call. There is only one way, but it takes to much time and it's quite stupid. You can add the prefix to each number in your phone book. Try to call your operator to disable it.

Wow I would be lying if I did not said that this is a big disappointment...
Hopefully they will put in this albeit small but significant function in the newer models.
I hope that our provider has a solution.
Thanks alot for the help gentlemen...
and for saving us some working hours today.
Tonite I will find something new on the phone to occupy my time.
p.s. is there a software to control / change the functions/settings of the phone from my PC? Again I'm using my experience from my NOKIA. This may become my next thread.
