Hi all,

I've been trying to find a SIMPLE SMS backup application, that would allow me to download and backup my SMS messages from the phone into my PC.

Haven't managed to find anything that does ONLY that, without cramming in other functions which I mostly don't need.

But anyway, found SMS Folder Manager that kind of does what I want it to do, but for the heck of me I can't figure out something, and there must be a way to do it.

How do you "select all" when you want to move the messages from your Inbox into a folder created by SMS Folder Manager (which it forces you to do - don't understand why), in order to then export that folder into an XML file??? I have over 200 messages in both my Inbox and Sent Items, and can't believe I'm expected to tick each one separately and then do the move.

Thanks in advance.

unfortunately, that is the only way to do it... hope S&W introduces a select all feature in their next version.

yeah, it'a a pain, bu there is no "select all". But one trick is to just slide your stylus over the checkboxes, you don't have to tick each one seperately.

Take a look at Message Storer from Symbianware:

http://www.symbianware.com/pr[....]d=messagestorer_uiq&pl=se_p900

So a little warning:

I bought the SMS Manager from S&W, but have A LOT of trouble when it's installed. The same goes for SMS Scheduler! The only software from S&W that works 80% is the Tones++.

After several e-mails, over a 2 months period, NO respons from S&W. Have called them on the phone to ask for assistance regarding the hickups with the software, but the one time I managed to reach them the only "help" I got was: "hmmm"

So - If you want software that works, and companies that cares, please DON'T buy from Softandwireless.com!

Just wondering, does "SMS Folder Manager" and Message Storer allows you to send the sms back into the phone after I've made a master reset or format the phone? Thanks

sms folder manager gives you the option to copy smses back to the system folders, but one of the groups, inbox or sent, can't remember which one, is sent to the draft folder.

Thanks for all the replies.

I'll check out the Message Storer, it looks like a simple app, no gimmicks I don't need. Fingers crossed it will work smoothly too, no silly design-overlooks like no "select all" option...

Thanks guys.

/me pipes up.

Try Desktop Message:

http://mobileways.de/M/1/0/0/

It's great, you can download messages to PC (like you asked) as well as create folders etc and it lets you copy them back onto the phone too although I'm sure it said I couldn't in the documentation, but it does!

Sadly it doesn't handle MMS's, but thought I'd mention it anyway. You can download a trial version from the above link.

Hope that helps!
