> Disabling On-line button on SE700i

Hi Folks
I found after using the SE700i for one month that my phone bill for GPRS has shot up.
I suspect that this is due to the 'convenient' On-line button on the side of the phone. If the phone isn't locked, touching this button will automatically bring me to my ISP's website... thus the cost incurred.
Does anyone know how to disable the On-line button? Thanks

I think it cannot dissable, but you can dissable the button with a hammer, lol....
Hopefully I have free WAP connection, and I dont have to pay..

On my K700i (R2A041), the wap button is disabled in standby clock mode as well as the camera button. What version do you have?

Thanks guys... I finally came to the conclusion of giving it a fake URL. I think it would be wise to check your telephone bill to see if you are being charged for unintentional surfing...

There is a thread here on esato that shows how you can change the online button to be a shortcut of writing a new sms or calling a certain phone number. As i am on wap i cant give you the link but a simple search should bring up the answer, or some other person might be able to provide the link.

Pressing the Online-button will now start a new SMS, though I don't find it very useful since you'll always have to delete an 'empty' recipient (you'll see). If there's one person you SMS quite often, you could add his or her phonenumber after sms:. The shortcut makes a lot more sense then ...

GPRS is charged per kb, i left my phone online all night once and shat myself, but it was a gprs phone... so just cost whatever £0.001p to download the initial webpage

I'd like to make use of that extra button (e.g. to add a contact) but I don't have GPRS service. Are there dummy settings I can use?
