I bought my SE P900 around March/April 2004 and I have a little (beauty) problem with it, and maybe someone here knows if I can maybe 'claim it' for warranty because the phone is not even a half year old.
The silver/chrome paint at the back of the phone around the Camera lens is going off so I can see the plastic underneath the paint. Right now it is not a whole lot that came off but I think that in a few weeks everything will come off and in my opinion that should not happen for a phone this new!
Is this something that I can claim for warranty or will they just say it's something like 'user damage' like scrathes and stuff?

At least take it to a service point to let them have look at it. If it is a production foult SE will be told and they cam see if there is more phones with the same problem and post it out.

my p900 has paint problems too, on the flip , camera, top part of stylus hole in the phone. i am angry, my phone has 2 months old and for such damn expensive phone the quality should be better. p800 had a better paint quality. SE should offer af free oem case for all people with paint prob in warranty, like me or many others.

When I got home from work I called SE Customer Support and told them about my 'paint issue'. They told me it was user damage!! So I told them, that I think thats the most lame excuse they can think of, cause a lot of people got paint problems so it is not user damage but crappy paint on the P900 and a mobile phone of that kind of money, €750,- , has to have some good paint and no shit paint! So they adviced me to call or go by a SE Service point and maybe they will fix it under warranty, so I called them but they told me that they cannot say if it will be fixed under warranty or that I have to pay the bill when the reparation is done because only SonyEricsson can make that decision....And that I can understand! They told me to call SE Customer Support again and ask/demand for a 'special request' to fix my phone! So I'm gonna do that again

Although I think that the f**kers over there will say No again.

), I'm gonna take my P900 over there and then he makes the decision if it is fixed under warranty or that I have to pay $$ if I let it fix. Hopefully with a little 'smooth talking' I can get my P900 fixed again under warranty

Otherwise I want to pay a little bit of money for it, if it will cost to much SonyEricsson can go f**k itself

A silver marker and a bit of blank nailpolish will do just fine otherwise
