I have around 310 ebay feeback, all positive, and in almost every transaction I use paypal to pay or receive payment. its by far the easiest way pay on ebay.
I have not experienced any negatives at all so can highly recommend it
if you are new to paypal then just be aware that to receive payments from people using a credit card you will be hit with around 3% fee to cover the merchant cost of the transaction from the credit card company
paypal is actually owned by ebay now and payments can be made in pounds, euros and US dollars (possibly others too)
an alternative is nochex but I am finding much less use for that these days

Its definately gets rid of timewasters...as if you stipulate a "Buy It Now" you can choose an option so the buyer HAs to make immeadiate payment via paypal.
CONS:
1) Very high on commission rates unless you have a Verified Premier business account
2) Slow transfer of monies to your bank account once funds recieved. Concider how much interest they make in 5-7 days from ech of us overnight!

I've used PayPal a bit as well both as buyer and seller.
It's a payment option in the
Esato Shop as well and there has never been any problems.

I use paypal a lot on Ebay, and so far no problems either. The charges they make are rather pricey, and some penny-pinching ebay sellers try charging buyers a surcharge, even though Ebay made this practice illegal in June. I've never charged people for paying via paypal, and don't pay anyone's illegal surcharges!
I agree, the 5-7 working days is rather excessive for getting the money into your account - it as long, if not longer than waiting for a cheque to clear!

I use paypal too for everything i buy on ebay. Transferring money from my bankaccount always took 3 or 4 days. I also don't like people subcharging ebay costs in auctions.

it is good now that ebay have banned people using surcharges, though i still see a few items charging. Paypal is great for buyers though, as you get the item much quicker as it can be posted same days as bought, not like a cheque which takes 3-4 days to be delivered then another 7 to clear in the bank.

items can be safely sent if the payment has the paypal protection which usually requires that the buyers address is confirmed.
if you are sending to an unconfirmed address and their ebay feedback or paypal rating is low it might be prudent to wait a couple of days to ensure the credit card used was not stolen
