Is it possible to copy applications from the C: drive to the D: dirve without re-installing them?

Yes. I have done it several times both from C:\ to D:\ & reverse.
You just need to make sure you move all files.
Most apps are just X:\System\apps\xxx and the .sis in X:\System\install.
But look for any other related stuff e.g. in X:\System\recogs
