Welcome to Esato!

First off, if you are converting a track from cd you need a program that "rips" the track.

You can download dbpoweramp from their website for free.

Follow their instructions to use it. That gives you your mp3. (you can use that on the k700i straight away if you choose).

If you want to edit it, i suggest you use something like wav editor in the Nero cd writing bundle. This will convert the track to .wav format. You will see the "oscilloscope" trace of the track - you can edit this as you want (delete bits, etc)

when your done save this as either .wav or .mp3

If you save it as .wav, you will want to convert it to mp3 using the dbpoweramp software.

Then transfer it to your phone using bluetooth or a cable.

Hey presto!

Alternativley, if you are strugglin there are some nice people on esat that would give it a shot for you. (namely me). Just PM me if you need a hand.

good luck

yeah - the way i described assumes you want an mp3 ringtone (ie a normal cd sound)

you can get midi converters to make more polyphonic type ringtones.

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cdexos/cdex_151.exe?download

use this program called cdex, you can rip a cd track into an mp3 file and even specify what part of the track you want to convert. for example I just take a 30sec section of a track and use that as my ringtone.

Hope this helps
