To Sony Ericsson engineers:

I just bought a new K700 and since I have just switched from Nokia, I noticed that, unlike nokia, it is not possible to activate the loudspeaker before the party being called picks up.

This is sometimes very important. In a Nokia, you can turn on speaker while the phone is connecting.

I noticed that the K700 has the right soft key disabled while the phone is connecting/calling. This key could be used for this purpose, hopefully in a future firmware update....

Just my opinion,,,, other than that it is GREAT phone

We will take into consideration your suggestion here dude It has been a common problem for most of the SE K700/i owners here the cons you just raised Rest assured that the forthcoming SE fone models will not be encountering the problem you just made mention here ! Good thing you also used Nokia fones, to make notice of such comparisons !

Yes, it's a shame you can't do that, or at least do it with one keystroke, like in Nokias where the right soft key turned into the 'loudspeaker' button. As far as I know, the only way to do it is you have to press the joystick in for it's menu, and scroll to the loudspeaker button. Any other ways anyone knows about?

Yes, this is very annoying, please include this feature in the new firmware for K700 (not only in the new model).

Usually, SE phone have good user interface, most of useful features are in the right places, except this one.

while we are on the K700 subject, I just bought mine and love it except for two reasons
1. battery life is absolutely WORTHLESS when using bluetooth, which I do every day. MY t610 was FAR FAR better than this piece of junk
2. the housing is very weak, it creaks and creaks on the back cover.

Does anyone know how I can fix these two problems? I already removed the pieces of rubber from inside the housing cover.

I believe the R520 had a automatic speaker option, turn it on and move the phone to the ear and the volume would go down, put it on a table and the speaker activated again...
The alarm was also set to snooze just by moving the hand over the phone...when was that...eeeer...year 2000?
The same year Nokia did its best to sell funny coloured shells to schoolkids...gee

I use a folded up tissue between the battery and the back cover to stop it from creaking, other have suggested a piece of cardboard. Both work wonders.

A very neat thing you can do is cut a piece of cardboard about the size of the battery to stop it from creaking. Then put a SIM card on the cardboard and stencil around it with a pencil. Use a sharp knife and cut out the stencil from the cardboard. Your cardboard creakiness-remover now doubles as a spare SIM card holder.

same as before but press the joystick in and press 5.

one key access to this feature is definitely an oversight.
