Hi,

I just received a new T39 handset (see battery life saga), and am finding myself in a bit of a predicament. The phone book of my old phone is a complex affair, with each entry having several numbers etc, while the one on my SIM is out-of-date. I had hoped to use Bluetooth or IR to transfer my phone book from the old to the new handset. OK? However, as I only have one SIM, I can only have one handset on at a time.

I assume the SIM cannot store the multiple numbers that are in my phone book at present, and can see no way of transferring them. I have no IR on my computer, nor any other Bluetooth devices.

So, before I devote the rest of my day writing out all my names and numbers, and re-typing them all (AARGH!), does anyone have any wonderful suggestions??

Thanks,

--Matt

Access menu without SIM card (older models)

To access to the menu in your phone without having a SIM card inside do the following:

type **04*0000*0000*0000#

When display say "Wrong Pin" press 'NO' and you have access to most menus

You seem to be in the UK. If, in fact, you can find an old "dummy" SIM, from any cellphone shop, to put in the old phone, why don't just buy a Virgin mobile chip, for L10, and then you will have 2 live phones to transfer info via bluetooth. You can transfer the whole phonebook in one pop.

Thanks for the tip, but the code didn't work on my 02w09 handset.

I didn't know you could get dummy SIMs. Ironically I have a dead Orange SIM AND a Virgin Mobile SIM, but both are in my student accomodation about 200 miles away! I'll try using my Mum's Voda SIM tonight. Someone told me that would blow-up the handset (something about different duplex SIMs???) -- worth a try I think

Thanks,
