Ok my mates been telling me he browses http sites from his k700i. I WANT TO DO THIS!

its not really possible, i know with the p900 etc you can connect to your bluetooth and use your normal internet connection!!!
not managed to do it with the k700 yet and doesnt look like you can do it, unless you really mess with your internet settings ip's etc...
i he can show u it working then get him to post how he did it on here but with the p900 etc you needed to install OPERA that doesnt install on the k700 range!!!

really wierd...when i went onto wap.google.com on my k700 last night it loaded up the webpage, i cud scroll through and see everything i could on my computer screen, yet whenever i did a search it said the page couldnt be displayed> any ideas?

The web browser incorporated into the K700 is quite advanced for a phone browser, but doesn't like some of the more advanced features on some web pages. I suspect it is the script on the results page of Google that it doesn't like. Do View / Source on the results page of a Google search from Internet Explorer and yon will see what I mean.
Bizarrely my old T610 could happily display the results of google searches. I suspect it just ignored everything it didn't understand whereas the more advanced browser in the K700 has a go at it, but fails.
I don't suppose the browser has been enhanced in later firmwares (R2L) to allow the parsing of this useful page has it?
It is worthwhile noting that pressing the 'I'm feeling lucky' button works, which can be useful.

umm u can use http browsing ur sp service provider has another wap account eg email cas email way accounts are saposs to opes POP3 or st.. and thoes are linked to http gateways so if use the account as the wap settings for ur browsing then WA la u got http thats why i love BTC mobility
