The R2A version of the S700 whitepaper is available from the SE Developer website, dated August 2004.
It clarifies that the phone WONT be able to use MS Duo Pros, just MS Duo, which limits you to 128Mb of storage, sorry people
But hell cool phone nonetheless

goddamn

I don't think I'll buy it anyway.. that's the only thing I don't like about SE, and it is the fact that they always use MS Duo memory... it's so goddamn expensive.. why not use SD or CF? much cheaper, at least 512mb SD is,...

I compared R1A and R2A earlier this afternoon when I posted a link to the whitepaper in another thread and found no difference in the sections covering the memory stick so I guess it more reinforces that it will have duo not duo pro rather than clarifying it
I personally think its a shame but I've said that so many times now I guess

just are not listening

to much invloence from sony i gues. (or how do you wright that word).
i would've like to see a MSD pro slot 2. but i don't mind to be honest. 128MB MSD is ok for me and i'm sure its ok for most people. i think an MSDpro slot will cost to put into phones then the normal MSD slot.
but be glad that the P910 and all future Pxxx phones will support MSD pro

I don't really think the S700 NEEDS Duo Pro. Nice if it does but won't stop me buyin it.
It really really should have personalised message tones though.
@ bart
I think the word u want is influence

its a shame but i was planning to buy the phone even before all this calamity about msd pro's came about. i'm wondering though does the 128mb msd come in the box with the phone or do you have to buy it seperate?

I can't imagine anyone needing more than 128 mb unles they use as a MP3 player.
As i'm remember S700 wil play ACC = more music on the same space?

Unfortunately there is a difference. Look at page 21. In R2A they added this: Quote:S700 does not support Memory Stick PRO Duo™ nor Magic gate™ copyright protection technology.
