> What's the heap size of K700i?
Bookmark topic
Hello everyone! I currently own a Nokia 7250i but am considering buying a SE K700i. 7250i allows Java applications to have access to GPRS, and so I can browse HTML sites (Webviewer) and chat (TipicME, JustYak). The problem is that 7250i's heap memory is so small, the web pages get truncated even when the "no image shown" and "0 pages cache" options are selected (Webviewer).
Will I have the same problem with the K700i? Or does the phone's heap take full advantage of the 41MB or so space? Masseur and wrath000, please help. Thanks!

More particularly, how many kb .jar file can I load to K700i? Is there a limit?

I've not heard of any limit by size but I think there is a limit to the number of java games/apps you can install.

Thanks for the answers, guys! 80 applications is more than enough to keep one preoccupied i guess... Can't wait to get my hands on a K700i!
Does anyone know of sites where we can download (large) MIDP 2.0 apps/games for free? Without the 64kb restriction, I think well-made .jar files can compete in quality with .sis files.
zw4mp -- great to hear that Webviewer works well with K700i! It's one of my favorite apps. I installed it in my friend's Nokia 6600 and compared with Opera/Doris, it's faster, and navigation is easier too (if you know how to use the keypad.) Also, if you set Webviewer to text-only mode, picture frames don't show (unlike in Opera), providing for neat text reading. IMHO, one example which shows that .jar apps don't necessarily have to always be inferior to .sis.
