O.K. looks like Branded K700i users JUST DON'T GET IT.

You get what you pay for! You get what you pay for! No one ask you to sign up with Vodafone, T-mobile, Orange, et al. You came to them because you wanted the K700i for cheap. You knew perfectly well that the providers f**k up the phone software. Why did you sign up??? Why did you sign up??? Are you an idiot? Even if you didn't know, you had a grace period (14 days, maybe) to return it. Duh!!! No one ask you to sign up.

Like I said, providers can do as they please with the phones. They paid regular price to Sony Ericsson for the K700i. Did you??? They can modify away in order to make the phones suit their company’s plans. EVEN if they took out useful features, it's their business decision and they will suffer the consequences. You CAME to them, they didn't come to you. You MADE the choice of signing up.

O.K. time for an analogy for people with thick skull: Peter bought a CAR X for 15,000 euros/dollars stock. John bought the SAME CAR X for 18,000 euros/dollars. John's car has powered windows and air conditioning. Peter has NO RIGHT to complain to the dealer OR the CAR X Manufacturer about his car not having powered windows and air conditioning.

It's cut and dry. Anyone who rebut this argument needs to go back to school or take a business class. A virgin non-branded K700i at regular price OR a f**k up modified branded version of the K700i for 10 euros. No one ask you to do anything. It was YOUR CHOICE. Now you have to live with it.

Don't be a crybaby and act like you got ripped-off. When the Sony Ericsson S700i gets release, and you're the first on the block to get the phone to show off to your friends, don't go around crying because there are so many bugs. AGAIN, it was YOUR choice to buy it now (so you can have people stroke your ego) or wait and buy the S700i later when there is a stable firmware.

Of course by all means, list the bugs on Esato so people can read about them and make THEIR OWN decision on whether to buy now or later. Please don't go around being a crybaby and act like you got chipped because you paid 10 euros for the S700i and is the first to have it in your neighborhood.

Round THREE!!? Let's go round again....

For the record, although I argued against Magicman/Cybervisitor (Could these be one and the same? hmmmm...) in the original thread/flame war/bit of fun I indeed own a totally unbranded k700i, and am extremely pleased with it. I have made the decision to shell out and buy a sim-free phone, although my network (O2) but very little customisation on their phones (one icon a theme and the odd other little file).

In a way a agree with magicman in the fact I've made a choice not to go with a network like Vodafone with all their network branding and buy myself an unbranded model, but don't like the rather swearword-laced way it was put across. We do indeed have a choice, if we all avoid Vodafone, citing the reason being as they keep sticking their awful firmware on their phones, maybe they'll get the message and restrict their branding to something more like O2's level.

for some reason (not having read any previous threads to this) it seems to me the topic starter is the one with the problem: not knowing which topics to avoid!

who cares what other people buy and why? Who cares if they're happy with their product or not? chill dude.... none of that is your problem... don't make it yours

You are so totally correct! As mentioned in another thread (by my buddy CyberVisitor) some people just don't get it! Why should they get an untouched unmodified version for ten bucks when others pay 500 euros?

I did the smart thing today though! I returned my unbranded K700i while stating the battery sucks and got my 500 euros back. Then I went to another store and got a good one year contract paying ten bucks cash!

And hey folks! I aint complaining about the icons, menus etc since I only paid ten bucks for it!

@vlamm.... I'm just waiting for cybervisitor/traveller/magicman (delete as appropriate) to delete all his posts and then deny all knowledge of it all like before. And you'll probably get called an idiot, this is his only reply to anything that doesn't agree with what he's saying!
