> Mpeg4, DSS-25 & K700i problems
Bookmark topic
I'm trying to send an mpeg4 file I just made with mpegable X4 to my K700. I've tried sending it via bluetooth, ir and using the DSS-25 sync station that came with my P900 but none of these will work. Comes up with error and the sync station doesent even recognise my K700 as being connected to it. The video works fine as I've had it playing on my pc. I've managed to send 2 3gp files to the phone via bluetooth and ir but nothing via the sync station.
Its only the mgeg4 files that wont send and the sync station doesent recognise the phone that I want to sort out. Can anybody help ?

what file name is your mpeg 4 file? i think it has to have either the extension .mp4 or .3gp to be able to play on the k700i.

Phones don't play MPEG files (file extension .mpg) They are enormous. Px00, K700 & S700 WILL NOT play these
HOWEVER
MPEG-4 (file extension .mp4) is totally different and all of these phones can play .mp4 files as well as .3gp.
@ Staz
MPEG4 is not a file extension. U need to look at the end of the file name & it is the three letters at the end. You may need to altar a setting to show file extensions

Just checked properties. Says Type Of File MPEG-4 File.
How can I change it to be able to work on my phone ?
I used mgegablex4 to convert it from mpeg to mpeg4. I used pv to do the others which were converted to 3gp. Mpegable is the only program I've found that will let me play video from the phone on my pc.

Strange! The .mp4 should play no problem. Try encoding it again or with PVAuthor.
Oh PVPlayer should also play them on the PC but it's not very good

I had the same problem myself. You can encode the movies to mp4 and they will run on your pc but not your k700. It's because of the encoding settings, you have to encode the movie with a smaller size, bit rate etc and then they will play.
When you encode there is an encoding profile box on the settings screen of mpegable x live. Change the profile to Sony Ericsson p800/p900 and click apply settings, then encode the file. it should work on the k700 now with these lower settings applied. You were probably encoding it at too high quality like I was.
