> K700 or Z1010?

This is another one of those "This one or that one?" threads... I've decided to buy myself a new cellphone and really like both K700 and the Z1010. I've heard so many good things about the K700, but I really like flip-phones (what a nice thing to base my decision on
) and I really also would like to have video conversations as I know many people who have that on their phones aswell. I'm just not sure yet. Money really isn't important here, just the quality of the phone in itself. Which one do you think I should buy? Which one has more features in the long run? I also wonder about the memory card-thing with the Z1010, I mean, I don't understand how that works. Is it INSIDE the phone so that you can keep it there and have extra storage, or is it just to add things to the cellphone, because in that case the K700 has more space right? I also heard the Z1010 doesn't have a radio and that's too bad but not really the biggest problem in the long run.
Any help here? For those who do have the Z1010, how do you like it so far? Is it really worth it?

These sort of comparison threads are becoming somewhat annoying in that so many keep appearing when there is already a wealth of information on various handsets already available. I would recommend that you look at the reviews people have done of both the K700i and the Z1010 here on Esato (and elsewhere if you wish) along with the guides provided in the 'Mobile Phones' section of Esato.
Having said that I will offer the following advice:
1.) The Z1010 has been delayed time and again and isn't really cutting edge anymore.
2.) The Z1010 allows one to store data on a memory card, which can be removed and swapped for another one, so that the memory capacity of the Z1010 is, theoretically, unlimited. Such memory card are typically used to store music, pictures, video clips, etc
3.) The K700i has 41 MB of memory and does not support memory card expansion, so when the 41 MB are used up one has to delete files if one wants to store anything else.
4.) If you really want a 3G phone then you would be better waiting for the Z1020 (or whatever it will be called), which should be out this year, or early next year. You can find some information, and pictures, of the Z1020 in the 'Rumours' forum. The Z1020 has a 1.3 megapixel camera and is generally better than the Z1010.
5.) Both phones have excellent features, in fact their features are very similar, except for the 3G features of the Z1010. Both phones offer infrared and Bluetooth along with integrated cameras and colour screens with 65,000 colours.
6.) If you buy a Z1010 you will probably have to buy it on 3 as the other UK networks haven't released their 3G services to consumers yet (I am assuming that you live in the UK).
7.) If form factor is important to you then you might want to consider how you would like to use a phone, which has a different form factor to that, which you are most used to.
8.) Current 3G phones are not all that reliable in terms of maintaing signal strength and battery life. There have been improvements in both areas over the last year, but they are still not as 'reliable' as non-3G phones. I would also like to point out that current 3G networks in the UK do not have the same level of coverage as GSM networks.

k700 has internal 41mb memory...other phone carries memory card...fill up, take out..get new one...simple lol...i wouldnt buy either..but thats my choice..3G is an overated experience...for now...

Oh btw, I don't live in the UK, I live in Sweden, and if I buy the Z1010, it will be without 3G 'cause I really don't like 3G all that much... :/

3G Coverage in the uk is at 65% currently...and judging by the take up of 3G handsets currently available, people, generally, arent convinced..the rise in sales of these handsets have been mostly because of the free minutes that have been offered with them..which has been unmatchable by most other networks...but then...alot of the general public are still confused by gprs...settings..blah blah blah...so its little wonder that take up of 3G has been, to say the least, slow...

If buying z1010 i would recommend buying with Comviq which is the cheapest + u get free data/gprs to 31/12-04.
