The screen on my p800 became corrupted while playing solitaire and on rebooting the phone just vibrates and makes a sound and noything else works. Screen totally blank, keypad produces clicks but am unable tob make calls or anything else. Is this a common fault with a simple remedy or is the phone indeed dead?

Have you tried making or recieving a call with it?

Sounds like a possible software fault. Try taking the battery out for a few seconds, then re-inserting it and see what happens

Is your memory full on the phone? Could be that. Do a search on Master reset for P800. I can't remember the procedure but it should say "Data has been corrupted" then reset itself back to factory settings and be useable again.

On further investigation, it appears that the phone is able to make and receive calls so it is just the screen that is not working. Have tried removing the battery for ten seconds but this appears to make no difference.

Sounds like a service centre job, unless you feel confident in taking the phone apart and replacing the screen yourself.

Thank you all for your advice. I have obtained and fitted a new screen and the phone remains dead. At least I have eliminated this as a cause... Any further thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Richard

It might be a good idea to give the service center a visit at this point. Just my two cents.
