Hello I have browsed the boards a bit and found the answers to many of my questions that I had before coming here, but I still have a couple more.

I have purchased a K700i contract on O2. Which 'firmware' will it come with? If it is the slightly worse one, how do I upgrade?

Bluetooth - I get the fact that I can browse the internet on the phone at the speed of my ADSL modem (or did my head make that one up) that is on my computer. But does this cost, or say if I downloaded a game, via the bluetooth-pc connection would it be free?

Also, when you charge the battery for the first time (the all important one, apparently?), should you leave the phone off, or can you mess about with it while it's charging.
Should be here Weds, cannat wait

thanks in advance.

@robbie b -I guess the package comes with with the stock R2A . . . firmware You just have to upgrade it to the R2L . . . firmware, as to increase it's battery life by 30% and remove majority of the nuisance bugs ! About the charging issue, I guess you have to drain the battery first (ideally) before charging it to a full The performance of the battery will reach it's peak after a couple of charging (about 4) from the first charging cycle made ! About the Bluetooth issue, well my apologies but I just have not tried doing it so Cheers! Oh, glad to have you on-board at esato dude

You can use the bluetooth connection to browse if you make some complicated fiddles with the se java sdk kit and have webviewer installed on your phone. You can't use the built in browser for this. Although i have managed to get this to work on my p900 using a standard bluetooth connection and opera, i've not tried it on my k700. I suggest searching, it is a fairly recent topic. Browsing over bluetooth costs you no more than your adsl.

@Robbie b

If you download a game onto your PC and then transfer it to your phone via Bluetooth it will only cost you the sum of the amount you are charged for accessing the internet from your PC plus the cost of the game from the site you download it from. There is no cost involved in using Bluetooth to transfer files.
Whenever I buy a new phone and charge it for the first time I usually try out some of its features and I don't notice any major problem with battery performance. I am sure that some would disagree with this view, but personally I have never had a problem using my phone during the first charge.

Thanks for the answers.

How would I go about upgrading my firmware? Do I send off the phone? or can I do it via Bluetooth?

Also can I surf the web and, say, post here on the K700i without it costing any more than the ADSL rate on my pc?

Thank you for your help.
