I was wondering if I can play Java games, compiled for other SE models such as K700i, on my P800? Would it be as simple as recompiling the files (.jar) on the P800? I have no knowledge on Java or its SDK. Can anyone please provide some information if it's even at all possible to run Java games for other SE (or even Nokia) phones on the P800?

Java games that work on other phones, and even SE phones probably won't work on the Pxx0. In fact very few Java games work on Pxx0, those that do aren't worth playing - saying that however - a few weeks ago there was a game people were talking about on these forums - but such games are few and far between. Anyway, you don't get any sound out on the Px00 on these games ( i've never come across a java pxx0 game that outputs sound - when sound works on other phones).. silence is not golden.

Nokia Java games are coded against Nokia specific APIs, likewise for SE to make them more efficient and easier to code. The Pxx0 just don't contain the same APIs - they are more for serious use and not really for gamers. A shame.

You could try
GDTR.jad
GDTR.jar

Would like to know if it runs well on the P800.
Make sure to turn on the ingame-softjoy and disable SE:s standard softjoy.

No...the above .jar files didn't work. The installation went ok...but when I tried to run the program...it just didn't come up.

Thanks for testing it on the P800. Will try to get one of those and see if the problem can be found. Should not differ too much from the P900...

If anyone has the P800 and the program Redirect (can be found at
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/getDocument.do?docId=64979) I would appreciate a PM about the log output from GDTR... (GDTR.jad). Probably some kind of exception.
Have a nice day!
