Hi everyone, I have a K700i (R2L), and I can't make the cmessenger work. I do all the settings, and then it says connecting, but this takes so long that I didn't see it work yet. What could I be doing wrong?

Possibly you are using wrong wap settings...you have to use the apn "internet"...this was explained a million times around here, use the search function...the settings are the same for any phone

I'm sorry but I couldn't come up with anything in the search. In Turkey, the phone operator sneds you your WAP and MMS settings, and you just install and use them. So, I don't really know what to do...

Hi Guys! Nothing to worry about cMessenger. Their website was indeed down last Sept 01 for a number of hours, possibly due to maintenance. After that, it's been back on its feet.

A few minutes ago I just finished with a marathon chat with my two sisters - one is in Australia. (I live in the Philippines.) cMessenger never disconnected. It's very stable and what I like about it is that even though the gprs network on my service provider is very congested (it's free, that's why), the sturdy little app never gave up and just tried and tried and tried to reconnect....

Tip -- If you're sure that you have the proper GPRS settings, just let cMessenger connect. I myself left it that way and took a shower. When I came back, all my online contacts were on the screen.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it still didnt work w/ my k700i. What's your mobile carrier, Globe or Smart? Mine is Sun. Please post ur gprs setting. I also bought Smart and Globe sims.

@lyonheart - I'm on Sun also. GPRS setting is standard, just what I downloaded from Sun when I bought the sim. APN wap, IP add 192.168.164.021. It might be that the network congestion was really bad when you tried to access.

If you still can't log in, try your Smart SIM card. Smart is fast and reliable. Globe sim won't work - cMessenger's site is still blocked.

BTW, I'm using a Nokia 7250i. You should have no problem w/ your K700i, it has higher class GPRS and bigger heap memory too.

@translator_lapid: thanks for the tips, but if cmessenger takes so long to connect, then either it has a compatibility problem with our phones, our the K700i has an issue with its internet. I mean, even with the slowest internet connection, on a PC, MSN messenger takes only seconds to connect.

just a bit question there... have you manage to browse through k700i's wap browser yet? if you haven't then its the internet setting's problem

Cheers!
